Abstract:Structural health monitoring (SHM) of composite plates has been implemented to automatic detect structural damage. The Lamb Waves have been used to measure the structural response. In this type of approach, temperature effects are particularly critical and they are always present in real structures, which challenges the applicability of SHM. Therefore, this talk presents recent advances in the development of a probabilistic numerical model to quantify temperature effects on Lamb Wave propagation, capable to perform data augmentation for the training of machine learning algorithms. Short Bio:Leonardo Ferreira is a professor in the Aeronautical Engineering course and in the professional master’s in Civil Building Systems at FUMEC University in Brazil. He obtained a B.S.E. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais – UFMG (Brazil) in 2013 and 2016. Currently, he is a PhD student in Structural Engineering at UFMG with a Sandwich Doctorate scholarship at Instituto Superior Técnico from University of Lisbon (Lisbon, Portugal) (2022). His research covers structural health monitoring (SHM), composite materials and numerical models to enhance machine learning algorithms applied to SHM.
