We are pleased to share the agenda for the upcoming workshop, aimed at strengthening international cooperation in addressing riverine inputs of marine litter.

This workshop follows the successful riverine litter workshop jointly organised by the Regional Seas Conventions (RSCs) in May 2024 in Valencia, Spain. The RSCs are intergovernmental frameworks that coordinate the protection and sustainable management of the marine environment in specific European regions, including:
- OSPAR Commission
- Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission, Helsinki Commission – HELCOM
- UNEP/MAP, Barcelona Convention Secretariat
- Black Sea Commission Permanent Secretariat, Bucharest Convention
This workshop will be of interest to national experts, policymakers, and academia working in this field. Participants will receive updates on the latest developments in riverine litter monitoring and assessment efforts across all RSC regions in Europe. The Workshop is organized in Partnership with FreeLitterAT project (with Lusófona University being part of the consortium).
